Just to bring the rest of the committee up to speed.
Lochearnhead cancelled our booking for November last week. They did not give a reason however as it was delayed information due to the registrar's personal situation I doubt this has anything to do directly with the trouble last visit. They have said they'll give us a refund for our deposit so I'm currently waiting for a cheque and the return of our security cheque.
I will be chasing them for both and a reason.
Looking into alternate sites I asked Craig to check Lapwing. However on the price quoted to us, based on 30 larper +food, we'd have to up the price to £45 to break even.
The third option is to see what Douglaswood is like and ask about that for winter if folk like it.
Option 4 see what the indoor accomodation at Wiston Lodge is likely to cost.
Option 5 - If it comes to option 5 I'd gladly take suggestions here. _________________ The Co in Co-GM does not stand for Cozy! |

Will also see about talking to Wiston lodge. My dad has a long good relationship with Wiston so if i do it through him, may get a good deal _________________ Bring on the Wenches!

have had the cheques back from Lochearnhead. The reason for the cancellation given is that the committee have decided to only make the site available to youth groups. As such Lochearnhead is now off limits to us permanantly. _________________ The Co in Co-GM does not stand for Cozy! |

A terrile reason & sounds like an excuse, making it unavailable to none youth groups will only lead to them having an empty site more offten during winter. Shooting themselves in the foot & less than happy. Very unproffseional to cancel a booking taken & when deposit is paid - also less than 6 months notice. _________________ Trying not to be such a grumpy old man

actually they were more or less booked solid this winter, I was lucky to get the date I got. Perhaps the high demand is what caused the change in position? _________________ The Co in Co-GM does not stand for Cozy! |

mmmmmmm maybe, though would still have prefered a decent amount of notice & them to honour a booking they had confirmed _________________ Trying not to be such a grumpy old man

I was going through the other suggested sites list on the wiki and found http://fordell-firs.org.uk/ in Dunfirmline and 1 hour 10 from Glasgow site has fields woodlands and cliffs the price for their 40 bed chalet with kitchen for 2 nights £563.21 which based on 30 people works out at £18.77 per person(within 50p of Lochearnhead as I recall)
I've got an enquiry into see their availablity but providing their free I think we should go for it. _________________ The Co in Co-GM does not stand for Cozy! |

| I have had a request to possibly look at making the winter event in october when it would be slightly warmer (Surprisingly this request didn't come from Australia) is it something the GMs would possibly be able to do, or for that matter is it something the players interested in the event would be able to do? |

I'm very event heavy in October as is a few other players. Also I'm not sure I'd be able to get the time off. _________________ The Co in Co-GM does not stand for Cozy! |

Craig can you see if Douglaswood would be available for the winter banquet? I'd really like to use it if possible. _________________ The Co in Co-GM does not stand for Cozy! |

I booked it today. Need to send cheque to confirm booking so will get signatures on Sunday. They were going to charge us the higher winter rate but seeing as we've been before and are going again, he will charge us the same rate for all our bookings My achievment of today. Once again £720 gets us exclusive use of the site for the weekend, will also be booking it for Spring banquet next year once i work out the dates. _________________ Bring on the Wenches!
